In India, there is a massive thrust around state and center subsidies for solar rooftop and installations. While there is the advantage of accelerated depreciation for business entities, for domestic and non profit entities, and in schools / colleges, there are subsidies available that vary from state to state.

Gujarat 

GUVNL : Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited is the go to agency for all policy related measures, and new programs being rolled out in the state of Gujarat. 

Haryana

HAREDA : Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency is the state nodal partner and all initiatives in RE are rolled out from here, in the state of Haryana.

Uttar Pradesh

UPNEDA : Uttar Pradesh Nodal Energy Development Authority is the state nodal partner and all initiatives are rolled out here including policy and incentive programs for the state of Uttar Pradesh. UPNEDA issues tenders for solar streetlighting, solar home lighting systems etc. in huge no.s considering that much of the state has electricity problems and remote nature of certain villages requires solar powering such clusters.
