Finally the national mission has started to yield the desired results, combined with the need to have a quota of power via solar and via renewables, utility scale solar power plants have started to come online and feeding renewable solar power into the grid. 
This particular plant has been developed in Barabanki, by a private company at an estimated cost of 35 Crores INR. It is another matter that the cost of setting up a 2 MW power plant now is around INR 18 Cr. The plant will supply power to the state grid under a 25 years power purchase agreement (PPA) signed with Madhyanchal distribution company of the UPPCL.
In UP, the threshold set for power production via renewable solar is at 5 % with o.5 % coming from solar. More news around the power plant here :
